Weir Waste have been successful in tendering for the waste services contract at Worcester University. The contract involves the collection and treatment of all general waste, dry mixed recycling and confidential waste. The collections all take place via a Pay as You Throw system. This is enabled by all containers being fitted with Radio-Frequency Identification Chips (RFID). This allows the collection vehicles to record the weight of the material inside the container along with the date, time and the GPS co-ordinates.
Weir Waste will also be assisting the University in delivering their sustainability targets and carbon reduction policies. We recently participated in the Universities’ Go Green Week, helping to increase awareness and understanding of re-use and recycling to students and staff.
